Medical Assistant Program

In DCI’s medical lab, students in the MA program will obtain specialized skills in clinical procedures such as CPR/First Aid, venipuncture, injections, measuring and recording vital signs, electrocardiogram, spirometry, audiometry, rapid strep testing, HCG testing, hematocrit, hemoglobin, autoclaving, urinalysis, gram and Wright stain, proper microscope use, fecal occult blood and other basic laboratory testing.

In only 9 months, you will acquire the knowledge and skill base that will assist you in becoming First Aid and CPR certified. Upon completion of the program, MA graduates are qualified to take a computerized certification exam with AMT (available here at DCI). Upon passing the AMT certification, our graduates will hold the title of Registered Medical Assistant. Our graduates may also elect to take the certification exam for phlebotomy technician.
